Family Run Hotel With A Warm Friendly Atmosphere

Take the M6 to junction 36. Follow the A591/A65 in the direction of Kendal. Bypass Kendal by staying on the A591. Drive through Windermere, Ambleside and Rydal. As you approach Grasmere go straight across the roundabout (do NOT turn left into Grasmere village).

We are about 3/4 mile along the A591 on the right, just as the speed limit changes to 30 miles per hour.

Directions from the North

Take the M6 to junction 40. Take the A 66 in the direction of Keswick (North Lakes).

At Threlkeld turn left (just past the White Horse pub) and take the B5322 (this is signposted for Windermere and St Johns in the Vale). This will cut off the approach to Keswick and leads onto the A591. Follow the A591 towards Windermere and Grasmere.

Pass the Swan Hotel on the left. The entrance to our drive is immediately after Our Lady of the Wayside church on the left.

By Train

The nearest train station is located at Windermere (approximately 8 miles from the hotel). There is a regular bus service from the train station to Grasmere (alight at the Swan Hotel). Taxis wait outside the station and will cost around £20.
