Bar and Lounges

Bar and Lounges

You can snuggle in front of the fire, relax and unwind in the stately but informal lounges, The Lonsdale and The Wordsworth, catching glimpses of the local deer and badger.

We have chess and other board games, books, a piano, large Freeview television, three roaring log fires to relax by and a fully stocked bar, (originally formed from a salvaged late 19thC pitch pine post office reception), with fine wines spirits and beers for relaxing evenings in front of the flickering firelight.

We also have a selection of local interest books and magazines for you to browse through as well as free WIFI for exploring next day's exciting discoveries in the National Park.

During the day, why not relax with a pot of tea or coffee and take in the magnificent views of the gardens, fells and beyond where the famous 'Lion and the Lamb' rocks on helm Crag can be seen.

The Forest Side breakfast

Set yourself up for the day with a scrumptious, all you can eat leisurely Lakeland breakfast available from 8:30 to 9:30am. The Columbian beans are ground to order for every cafetiere, the tea and fruit juice selection is wide ranging and the breakfast made from locally sourced ingredients.

In the colder months eat your breakfast by the glow of the roaring fire and in the summer watch the deer and badgers in the back garden.

No-one leaves our breakfast hungry, and our delicious breakfast provides a good start to a full day exploring The Lake District National Park!
